I made my first batch of cookies and loved the way they tasted.......BUT, after I added fondant to the top of them, I wasn't as crazy about the taste. The cookie flavor seems to get lost and now they taste like fondant.

I'm really disappointed!

Do you ever flavor fondant so it tastes better?? If so, I'd love some guidance on this.

Thanks so much,
Roberta

What brand of fondant are you using, or is it homemade?

If it is Wilton fondant, no amount of flavoring can make that nasty stuff good in my opinion. I only purchase Satin Ice.

For cookies, if you don't have Satin Ice on hand, you can make a batch of Marshmallow Fondant (MMF). I have used both extracts and Lorann Oils to flavor MMF. There are tons of Lorann Oil flavors to choose from. I can't tell really tell you how many drops to add because some are stronger than the others.
Just find a complimentary flavor to go with your cookies.

It took me a while to respond because my daughter's wedding just happened on Sunday. Now I think life just might get back to "normal"

I was referring to the Wilton fondant. It is disgusting!!!!

Thanks so much for your response to my concerns about this. It's nice to know there is something beyond Wilton fondant. I'm excited to try other things.
