Anyone who could answer this, it would be greatly appreciated. I started baking chocolate cupcakes and see that I'm out of baking soda!?!?! icon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gificon_surprised.gif Is there a substitute that I could use? I've already added the cocoa and can't turn back now - please help.

TIA

Anyone please? The batter is just looking at me and now I'm contemplating whether or not to wash it down the sink and just make vanilla cake instead even though my son's heart is set on chocolate.

Do you have a swimming pool ?
because you can use PH Up, for Alkalinity, it is exactly made of the same thing.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. LMAO - No I don't have a swimming pool and yes I do have baking powder but the my recipe calls for both baking powder and baking soda. My mom says to put orange juice or sprite or pop of some sort. I'm still thinking what to do???? thumbsdown.gif

baking powder just has a dry acid in it to react with the baking soda in the baking powder. you might could use more baking powder and decrease the acid
