Hello! I was just wanting to share my "winter greetings" cake. It was inspired by the Lenox "winter greetings" china. It just so happens that the artist, Catherine McClung, is my mom. She wanted a cake to match her china for a small luncheon that she is having tomorrow. I am very proud of my mother's accomplishments and I wanted to share her work as well as mine. I am doing a similar cake for one of my mother's friends at the end of the week. I am thinking I will do the top tier differently next time, but I was trying to follow the pattern. I welcome your critiques.

Thank you, she picked it up today and seemed pretty happy with it!
It looks like talent runs in the family. Beautiful work on the cake...I'm sure your mom was very happy with it.
Thanks everyone. I am excited that some of you have or have seen the china. My mother is very talented and I have always been very proud of her. She also has a few other china pattens from Lenox as well. She is always doing new and exciting things. She once got to design an ornament for the white house christmas tree (maybe 2 or 3 years ago) and got to meet Laura Bush. She was very excited. She was also featured on HGTV among a few others demonstrating how she made the ornament.
Not catoonish at all, it's absolutely beautiful. Your mom's going to love it!
That is awesome! Great job!
Have you considered painting the fondant? Then it could wrap around the top tier. Ask mom to help, it would be fun to work together, right? Only suggesting because you mentioned doing it differently next time, not as criticism...
yeah, that would be a neat idea. She would have to do the painting though!
