Thank You My Tree Cake Was A Hit.

I did it! And I just want to thank everyone that has helped me along the way with this cake.
The tree stand was made from pipe secured to an oak board. My husband is my structural engineer when it comes to these things but everyones advice certainly helped in creating the entire cake. I tried to wrap the stand with rice crispy treats and then wanted to cover it with fondant but to no avail gravity took over and nothing would stick. I tried wrapping the branches with plastic wrap, rubber bands, wire mesh and nothing would hold the rice crispy treats in place. So long and behold I ended up doing paper mache on the tree. My husband airbrushed to make it look great.
All the leaves are gum paste, which gave me lots of problems. The gum paste that I usually use I couldnt find as my supply store went out of business. I ended up using Berkels brand. It didnt seem to harden as well as Satin Ice brand. Each leaf was hand cut and pressed using real maple leaves. I then painted them with luster dust and steamed them for a glossy finish. Most of the leaves are stuck in smaller branches on the tree. The three cakes are BC but they started to crack on me so I tried to cover the cracks up with a few leaves. But I didnt want to put the leaves on the cake until the very last minute so I never decorated the cakes until we got to the reception hall. You cant see it but there are two wedding rings placed on the top layer of the cake. The base is rice crispy treats and covered in buttercream using the grass tip. The moose and the cow were both plastic.
So thank you to all of you that had given me advice in making this cake. You can see the pic in my photos. I can't figure out how to resize it to fit here.
Thank you, thank you thank you!.
