I'm getting ready to make some chocolate flowers and butterflies for my niece's cake this weekend. Can I use almond bark, or are candy melts the better option?

Thanks!

That's pretty much what candy melts are.
If you need colored candy sometimes the melts are easier already done. If you are going to color use candy colors if you can get them. If you live to far to run and pick them up use shortening and your regular gel.
