I have just bought the 16x3 half round pan and the 12x16 x3 square pan as well as the 12x3in round pans. Should I use the flower nail trick for heating core type device when I use them/ I have never used any of these and plan to as I have christmas cakes to do with these. icon_confused.gif

I would. I have heard to use a nail with 11x15 and larger.

I use flower nails in my 10 pans and up. It reduces the heating time and you get perfect cakes every time. In my larger pans 14 and 16in and up, I use several flower nails. Make sure you grease your nail too, not just your pan. That way they slide out very easily.

Good Luck.
