I just got an order for saturday for a flat cake with 3 superheros on it.
I've never done a bc transfer and I don't know how on earth I would draw this on the cake. I think Im going to say no to the lady, but wanted to check with you guys first to see if anybody has any ideas..thanks

All you need to do hun, is find some coloring books with those particular heroes in it and make your transfer out of that.
All you would have to do is, tape your parchment paper over the image that you are trying to do and pipe your bc on that in a kind of paint by numbers type of thing. There is a wonderful tutorial here on the site that explains this really well, and of course has pics to help ya along too.
Hope this helps ya.

I was really intimidated by the FBCT, until I tried it. I love them, they are easy, they just take a good little chunk of time.

well, I just went through the instructions and it doesn't look so hard, I think Im going to give it a try( there is always a first time for everything)
or maybe I'll do 3 3d faces on the flat cake.. well thats just an idea.
in any case thank you guys, I'll call the lady and tell her I'll do it.

You can do it!!!! (said in my southern louisiana, Rob Schneider, waterboy impression!!!) I agree that coloring books are a necessity for pics! Spiderman is actually pretty easy to do and easily recognizable. And I think you could totally get away with doing just their faces or torsos! Good luck you'll get it!

Do you have to do their faces or can you just do their symbols? Their symbols tend to be really easy. I have done superman and spiderman and they are both very easy to free hand.

no, she only wants the heroes, but I know it would be so easy and neat to just do the symbols..right?

I'd do a FBCT unless she would be interested in having a heros placed on the cake as an extra toy for the birthday boy. That would make your life so much easier! I actually did this the other week when the mom brought over super hero cake toppers- spiderman, hulk and some kind of wolverine?? That freed me up to decorate in those colors and symbols w/out having to do FBCT of all of them. Good luck!!

I understand your apprehension but think you should be able to come up with a solution. Do you have some time to play with? I recently did a superman cake (in my photos). I didn't have (didn't really want either) the plastic mask that wilton made for the face. Drawing the face intimidated me to I did an edible image- was a pretty easy solution. You'll find a way! I always get nervous when confronted with something new, but that's the best way to learn. Keep asking questions and let us know what you decide.

I have never done a FBCT before. Their symbols probably wouldn't be that hard to free hand if you didn't want to do a transfer. Superman and Spiderman are really easy. Which heroes are you doing?I was going to on the superman cake I did, but I couldn't find an appropriate picture and I am a big chicken! The toy idea is really good. If you are doing superman you could make an icing base for him to stand on (maybe a blue, yellow, or red diamond), a web for spiderman, etc.

well, I did the cake and it was the worst cake I've ever made and I dont think I will try bc transfer again unless the image its really big, It was so much work and when I lift the wax paper from the cake the image just fell apart so I finished it free handed, I was so unhappy and frustated I gave the cake to the client for free but she insisted in paying so she gave me money for the ingridients. at the end it was a litllte cute. I want to post a pic but dont know how, my son has to doit for me.. anyway thank you all for your help..if you pm me I'll e-mail a photo
