A lady that does cakes asked me at a party if she could "dump" her orders on me for the holidays since she won't have time to do all of them. icon_mad.gif I didn't schedule any orders for this month because I had surgery. So if anyone wants some "dumped" orders.......................

Actually, birdgirl, I would need to know where you live before I say yes.

I am in Nebraska--in the middle of nothing. I figure if you take the order you should make the order. I don't think people would be happy to have their orders dumped on to someone else.

Hey birdgirl, I have some housecleaning I am looking to dump... since you seem receptive, why don't you go ahead and get that taken care of for me! icon_wink.gif So, were you able to keep from slapping her? icon_confused.gif

Yeah, and while we're all "dumping," I have some court dates I don't wanna do... icon_lol.gif

Sheesh!

peajay66-answer is by York. Well i decided to do laundry for the neighbors, walk the other neighbors dog, house sit for the lady down the street and all of the things you all asked--except court dates sorry don't do those! I had to sit through my stupid cousins little run in and I wanted to say "throw her butt in jail" but didn't want to be there myself! icon_lol.gif

I know York well! I used to spend a week every summer there at my cousins. Hubby has a cousin in Utica now.

Don't let anymore people "dump" on you! Make cakes instead - even if they're for yourself!

I think if I tried to "dump" a cake order on another decorator, my clients would be doing the "dumping".

Not sure where York is, how far from Omaha? Not interested in the dump orders, just curious where you are.

it was nice of her to ask if she could pass on the orders to you but yes....certainly the wrong choice of words.....

sorry you couldnt take advantage of the refferals though.

Scenerio as it played out in my head.......

With tongue in cheek I say, how very professional of her....... icon_surprised.gif

Then in the same breath I hear her clients say, "We must find a new cake designer. One that does not dump." icon_eek.gif

Just then everyone on CC within shouting ranges asks, "How may I help you?" icon_biggrin.gif

The recently unemployed cake artist wonders, "What happened?" icon_confused.gif

Really funny choice of words- but at least she's passing your name along! Maybe you can snag some new clients for the future...then you can return the dumping back to her when you get too busy!
