I made my first batch of icing this weekend and I tinted it green and some red, this seemed to make it real thin. How do I thicken it to be able to decorate. I am doing a Thomas the Train cake this coming weekend so some helpful hints are neede!!!!! icon_eek.gif

icon_confused.gif Hi there! What did you tint the frosting with? Gel paste is the best because it doesn't thin the icing. I have used food coloring before, and it does thin it but usually not so much you can't use it. I'm not sure what I would do, probably add a little powdered sugar at a time until it is a bit stiffer. GOod luck!

I agree! Add some more sugar - it will thicken right up. icon_smile.gif
