I have made a couple of cakes using fondant. Both times I had trouble with it sticking to the counter. I tried to keep powdered sugar on the table and flip it regularly. Still had some problems. Any suggestions?
I'm planning on making a Tinkerbell cake for my daughter's b'day. I want to use fondant and put Tink on top. I was thinking about rolling out fondant for Tink and then painting her. I've already drawn a picture of Tink on paper, but I'm not sure about doing it on fondant. Is there an easier way? Thanks.

Some people use Crisco or Pam instead of powdered sugar. Some use corn startch. I've also heard of people using big, vinal tableclothes.

I am still experimenting. I do find you need a lot of powdered sugar. It's not like making bread where you only sprinkle a little bit. I lay it on thick, and rotate it after every roll.

Thanks. I didn't use that much. I was worried about the fondant getting to dry.
