I am in need of serious help. I HAVE read or tried to read all of the topics on these but I am still at a loss. I even wondered if I really even needed one...until I invested in the spray color (not Wilton). And decided I really need to. I want one that will be easy to use and not REAL expensive BUT if it is better to get a more expensive one then so be it. This will be early Christmas gift from DH icon_smile.gif . And I figure I will be using it for the holidays icon_smile.gif . I also need a website for the airbrush and what equipment I might need. And a place with reasonable shipping.

Thanks for your input it means A LOT to me!! icon_smile.gif

My WONDERFUL DH just bought me one in August and I got the kroma jet from kopykate, and I LOVE it!!! I use mine whenever I can. It is really easy to use and not too expensive. I spent $200 and that was to get the airbrush, tank, an extra box of colors (the kit comes with red, blue, and yellow) and a big bottle of the cleaner for the airbrush. This also covered shipping. Here is the site and the one that I got. HTH and congrats on getting one. You will love it. icon_biggrin.gif

I don't want to confuse you, but I got into it by DH, and he literally bought me now 10 airbrushes, every color (not Wilton) possible, tank which has a regulator, airbrush holders so I can switch off brushes with different lines to the compressor. I thought he was crazy for all he bought but now realize how important and time saving all these different attachments are. Each of the brushes are ranging from inexpensive to expensive and all do something different. Yes, you can find one to do it all, but it depends on what you think is 'do it all'. I like certain brushes for different things that I can count on for that airbrush. It just depends on how much you will use it. If not a lot, you can probably get away with a cheap one and a small tank. A guage is very important though for cakes!
Good luck!

I have the aztek system from Roland Winbeckler and it's awsome. It comes with compresor with guage, dual action internal mix airbrush, moisture filter, 11 colors, 10 color cups for quick color change and several tips for different coverage. I was airbrushing with a friend one day that has the kopykake system and she stopped and went to the computer and ordered the aztek airbrush. You can find it on his web site.

Sorry, meant to tell you....my husband DID get several on ebay. Whatever you do, make sure you always clean your brush well. Don't skimp on the cleaning process.

I just bought one two weeks ago at a local craft store with a 40% off coupon. Its a Crescendo, has three bottles, three different tips and the air hose. Will work with compressor or canned air. I paid about $70.00.
