The Crisco recipe for "Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies" has always been my favorite. Now, with the new Crisco, they don't turn out. They are paper thin and half of them burn while the other half turn out just okay.

Has anyone noticed this also? Any ideas or tips on how to get them to look pretty? They still taste good and they still work when I use this recipe for my ccc cakes.

Soooo sad! icon_cry.gif

I have the same problem now. This is the only choc chip cokie I've ever used, and now it doesn't work...they turn out the same as yours...flat, very thin, some too brown, some not brown enough. They also give my dh heartburn now. I'm in hte process of trying new recipes now!

My favorite cc cookie recipe from a cook book I bought in high school (let's not talk about how many years ago that was icon_lol.gif ).

2 C sugar
1 C brown sugar
1 1/3 C shortening (I have been using the new Crisco)
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla

4 1/2 C flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt

large bag chocolate chips

I usually use a cookie scoop and leave them mounded on the cookie sheet when I bake them. I bake for 11 minutes at 350 degrees

I was very afraid to try this recipe with the new Crisco but they came out just fine. Shame that the icing doesn't. icon_cry.gif

Dumb question but here it goes! Are you using the yellow shortening or the white and does it make a difference in texture and taste as to which one you use? I have been trying to find a good recipe for cc cookies so I will have to try the ones given on here. Thanks!!

I have used only the white in my cookies. Tried the yellow when it first came out years ago and was not impressed so never tried it again.
