Have you tried making them out of gumpaste? There is a tutorial on here that is fairly simple.

I made some -- look in my pix, the Fall calla lily cake. All made from gumpaste. They're actually pretty easy to do.
Where in Michigan are you located?

I needed a few for a cake I made and followed that tutorial - they were really easy. I could have done a better job with more time, but they weren't hard.
