Adding Canned Frosting To Cake Mix

I thought I read someting about adding a can of store-bought frosting to cake batter but I can't find that post anymore. When you do this, do you add anything else? An extra egg or anything?

I will try to find my recipe. I think you add an additional egg to the cake mix.
