I have a request for Cognac flavored chocolate cupcakes. I figured I could just use a standard cupcake recipe and just add cognac. How much do I add? I would also love to add some to the buttercream. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,
Destini

well I dont see why not. I add Kaluaha to buttercream and fill my cupcakes and it tastes great. Just pour a little at a time to taste.

There was a post yesterday with a recipe for vanilla cognac cake. You could search those words. It sounded yummy. Here's the thread heading

I can't be of any help on the recipe, but if you need help getting "rid" of any extra cognac frosting, call me up and I'll be right over.

The vanilla cognac cake is awesome but if you make it as cupcakes the cognac is going to be strong taste due the fact you bake it less then baking a cake. For the cupcakes I would reduce the liquid the by 1/8 cup and replace with 1/8 cup of cognac. You may have do a test run to get the right amount.

here is a link to show you how alcohol is left after baking; after 15 minutes you will have 40% after 15 minutes of baking.

go down about 1/2 way

good luck
