Just wondering if there was a way to get a cleaner cut with the ribbon cutter? This is my first time using it, so I dont know if it is me or the cutter. Sometimes I get a clean cut and other times it looks a little frayed like. I dont know if I make sense....!

I used gumpaste and fondant mixed and it came out fine. With all fondant it was a little frayed.

I was wondering the same thing when I saw your post. I tried to think back about the times I've used it. What i realized is that when I use it on straight wilton fondant it does cut cleanly. If I use wilton fondant with gumtex mixed in it cuts beautifully. I've used it on mmf with no problems either way. Wonder what others experiences are.

I used on satin ice and it was a little frayed too. I wonder if adding a little gum paste would help? icon_confused.gif

I used mmf with some gumtex and gumpaste mixed in. I pressed down really hard to see if that made a difference, seemed a little better, but not perfect. Another question, do I need to add it some gumpaste if I am adding in gum tex? Does it do the same thing, or does gum tex just make it more manageable??

Rub a dab of shortening on the cutting wheel. That should help with the "fraying" or jagged edges.

How much Gum-Tex should you add to the Wilton fondant?
