Two questions:

1.) do you think I was right in telling the customer that this cake (12" by 19") would feed about 30 children (6 year olds)?

2.) do you think $40 is fair? I quoted her that but am NOT Happy with the way it came out. I had planned this whole wafer-paper thing, but that didn't work because the blue seeped through and then I had to come up with another plan at 2:30 in the morning. The little guy is not edible, he's just a computer printout on a straw...I'm thinking I'm going to give her a 50% discount (so she would pay $20) because I really don't like it. Because I had to pull up the wafer paper characters I had there before, the icing is not as smooth as these crappy cell phone pics make it look.

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

Stop second guessing yourself ! This cake is just as cute as can be..... If I refunded every cake I didn't like, or didn't turn out like I pictured in my mind, I'd be cranking out free cakes, or just covering the price of ingredients....... icon_lol.gif The point is SHE is going to like it.....just remember if SHE could do a cake half as good as this one, she wouldn't be paying YOU to do it ........

I think it looks great - I knew it was Rocket before I looked at it close up!

Stop looking at it because now you can't see it! icon_smile.gif

Wow DO NOT give her a discount! The cake is adorable. I charge 50.00 for a 12 x 18 cake with basic decoration and 65.00 with fondant decorations. You are NOT over pricing her. If she even were to go to Wal-Mart she would have to pay 45.00!

A 12x19, when cut into 2x2x2 pieces, will serve over 50 people.

I charge $75 for my 12x18.

At $40, you charged less than $1 per serving.
