I'm in the midst of making a two tiered square cake and I needed to take a breather. Because the top tier is so small, and off the the side of construction I didn't think I'd need support with dowels and a cake board. Now my top tier is sinking!!! ARRGHH! I don't think there is anything I can do to fix it now. icon_sad.gif I'm so frustrated because after all these years of cake decorating- why do I still make such simple, stupid mistakes????!!!

If it is buttercream...you can fix it!

It's not a total loss. It's the top tier. Just pull it off as neatly as you can. Fill the sink in the next tier with icing. Dowel it. Re-ice the top if necessary and plop it back on.

No problem!
