If you guys wouldn't mind sharing, and apologize beforehand if it offends or disturbs anyone, what is the pay range? And how is the pay schedule (i.e. 10% comission from every student)

Thank you for those brave ones who responds.

PS Why is it that (not being rude in any way, obnoxious, trying to attack anyone through any angle, or a smart alec) some people don't like to let others know their salaries, even over the internet when you don't know the person personally?

i looked into it as a part time job. wasn't worth it for me. i dont think you make much, unless you do it a few times a week and have a full class.
i filled out the forms online. and a rep. called me the next day. she was really very nice and infomative. but it just was not for me@ hope this helped. icon_lol.gif

I think it's something our parents handed down to us...just something most people keep private, and if I posted my salary & someone from work saw it...holy cow, would I be in it really deep. I remember getting into a lot of trouble when I was a kid by asking my mothers friend (who was a school teacher) how much money she made. I remember she told me $400 a month... that was a long time ago and of course, I was amazed b/c that was a lot of $ to a 10 year old.

Haha, I guess so. I too have had experiences in asking teachers about their salaries (at the point in my life when I wanted to be a teacher) and lawyers too (at the point in my life when I wanted to be a lawyer), but thank God for google.com. icon_lol.gif

But I still didn't really get a "direct" answer. Is there anyone who wouldn't mind sharing?

My aunt was an instructor for many years but I'm not sure if she's was with 'Wilton'...I cannot call her right now, it's too late in her neck of the woods, but I'll try to remember to call her tomorrow and find out (ok, she may not share w/me, but I can ask). She has been a CD for over 30 years and after battling severe carp tunnel sydrome and breast cancer has stopped dec except for family.

OH wow. What a trooper! It's okay, you don't have to through all that trouble; I'm pretty sure someone here on CC will give in. icon_lol.gif

I can't say what Micheal's, JoAnn's or any other Wilton instructors get. I can tell you what I get teaching Wilton classes at Hobby Lobby. For a class with 4-6 students I make $120. for the course. A class with 7-9 students it's $150.00. There's more but I won't list it all. Maximum students paid for is 15. Project classes have other prices, depends on the class. But you didn't hear any of this from me. tapedshut.gif

ps: We're considered "independent contractors" not Wilton employees.

the rate may be different for different areas, and if someone post a salary and it's not what someone else is making there is a tendency to open a can of worms.

I don't mind saying how much I made..

I made $150.00 for a 4 week class that was 2 hours teaching and 2 hours prepping...( which is what they recommend..)

so I worked a total of 16 hours for about. $9.37 an hour..but, the job doesn't really end with those 16 hours..you have students that call you and you MUST make sure that before you start there is enough product in the shops.

That's what I got paid when I was a WMI, and like I said...it varies area to area..

If you're interested in becoming a WMI the best thing for you to do is contact the Wilton Industries and have someone call you back and discuss what they pay in your area and what would be your responsibilites.
