I was wondering what everyone is using to package their cakes/pies/cupcakes, etc.

I'm having a hard time finding boxes. All of the sites that I've seen have them in quanities of 100+, and I don't need that many...
Just wondering what y'all do!

Sorry, I don't order boxes so here's another bump. I get them at local stores as needed.

I found an independent bakery supply company (local in Kansas City) that sells to the public and stocked up there. Otherwise, I purchase boxes at Hobby Lobby & Michaels. The cake decorating stores around our area also sell them. In a pinch--like today when it decided to snow 7" and counting--the grocery store sold me a 1/2 sheet box to save me a trip across town.

Hope this helps...I found the same problem w/online suppliers. If you know someone else who decorates, though, maybe you could go in together and split an order.

I'm guessing no has answered up because no one has any better ideas....I too have a huge amount of two different sizes stored. I had to order 100 of each size. I just figured I'd order a sheet cake size and a round cake size and other than that I wing it! I just make cupcakes etc. fit into those as best I can! Often, I deliver a cake with the top up, because it won't fit.
Thats the best I can do, sorry! icon_redface.gif

I buy bulk packages of 100+ of certain sizes at a local restaurant supply store called Restaurant Depo. Other sizes I buy as needed.

Nothing says commitment like buying 100+ boxes but they go really fast and don't take up as much room as you would think. I buy 7" and 10" boxes in bulk and I buy 8" cake rounds in bulk. I cut the rounds down for smaller cakes and fit everythng from cupcakes to loaves to cookies into one of the other sized boxes. When I buy in bulk I pay about $.15 a box but when I buy in the local supply store I pay about $.69 for the same box. It starts to add up.

Not sure if that was helpful but its not that people don't want to share its just that everyone has found their own way around the issue of packaging and the solutions are very individual and depend entirely on how much business you are doing, where you are located ect.

Do you have a paper supply store in your area?? I use a local paper supply in Raleigh. I can buy by the box or by the case. It is called Papertown.
