I have a cake in the oven (Wilton's Soccer Ball pan) and this cake is taking FOREVER to cook through!

I really don't know what a heating core is--but have heard people mention it, as well as using the decorating nail. The cake is done on the top--but its jiggly in the middle.

I've used the ball pan often for teapot cakes.
I've never had to use a core.
Could something is off with your recipe. Too much liquid maybe? I have noticed when I alter box mixes with pudding or coffee creamer that it takes much longer to bake.
