im starting to master my BC roses, but the leaves look like crud. what tip do you like for leaves, and any techniques that you like? also, whats the best way to get that 'mound' effect when doing a rose bouqet on top of a cake? if you have pics, id love to see them ![]()
thanks,

For leaves, I like tip 352 (249 is a smaller version). The end of the tip looks like a V. To use it, openings are to the side and points top and bottom. Leaves will always come to a point. Squeeze icing bag lightly for long narrow leaves, and for fuller leaves use more pressure when squeezing your bag.
If I am making a cake that is going to have a floral bouquet on the top, I don't level my top layer. I use the natural mound of the baked cake instead of piling on icing to make the mound (don't like all that icing).
I use tip 352 for leaves also.......for the mound of roses.......i use like tip 12 and squeeze a little mound of icing on the center of the cake......then start added roses......one in the center and then the other are kind half on half off the icing mound so they're slanting down sorta. Giving the effect of a round bouquet.
