I have to make 100 roses for a cake this weekend. I did about 40 already and froze them and now I'm trying to do the rest but my BC is just NOT turning out right... the roses are coming out looking all jagged and torn... what's wrong with it? I don't get why my first batch turned out great and now my second looks awful... please respond quickly, I have everything ready to go in the kitchen right now!

You might try adding a bit of corn syrup to your buttercream. Sounds like it's a little stiff for what you are trying to do with it.
Just thin it down a bit with the corn syrup and that should help.

My guess is that your icing is too thick. Try thinning it a little.

try checking your tip. it may just need to be "opened" a little on the smaller end. i have had this problem as well. so i check my tips now every few uses just to make sure. icon_biggrin.gif

I don't have any corn syrup icon_sad.gif I also thinned it down with 3 tbsp. of water already and it seems so thin I'm scared to do it anymore... I've checked my tips, even switched to a different one and it's still doing it... I guess thin it more? I'm worried about the roses not holding up then...

Alright, I thinned it out some more and they seem to be better... thanks! Hopefully they'll dry okay though icon_smile.gif
