I have seen this a few times when I am reading a thread. You know you are reading along and then all of a sudden it just says "save". What in the world is that? A bump? An attempt to boost your postings? Surely it doesn't save it into anything. If I want to know what goes on with a topic I just hit "watch this topic", and when it works itself out I delete it.
And yes, I am being serious, what does it mean?

It's basically just that.. I think people who use it are unaware of the 'Watch this topic' option.

Once you post to a thread it "saves" it in your personal forum folder.. So if you write save it will keep it becuase you just posted. Its just another way to keep things in your file..

It puts the topic into "my posts". I agree, I think it's people who don't know about the 'watch this topic' option.

The problem is, there have been so many threads on this issue where even Jackie and Heath have been quoted from a previous post that they do not want anyone using save at all! and want people to cut back on the bumps.

There was a thread on people using save instead of the watch topic link and someone actually came in and typed save and never typed again so it wasn't intended as a joke or anything.. they were serious!! lol

Anyway I think it should be stopped somehow.. some way lol... it's so blessed annoying to get an email reply telling me someone's posted to a thread I've been watching and participating in for a while and go to find out it's just a damn save... quite annoying icon_smile.gif

Let me clarify,
I was reading a thread earlier and as I read down through the individual posts someone,( not the original poster) all they had typed was the word save. instead of a reply like the 3 of you have done. How can typing one word save something as opposed to typing an answer to something. icon_confused.gif Jibbies

Yes Jibbles any time you type anything in the box and reply no matter how long or short it is could even be just a period it saves to your "My Forum Posts" folder and notifies you (if you have that selected).

Whenever you reply to a post it automatically goes to your watched topics section. It doesn't matter what the word or words are that you type.

AHa
I finally understand! Thanks everybody. I didn't realize that it went automatically into the watched topics, so now I see why people do it; it not only puts it in their watched folder it adds to their posts without the work icon_rolleyes.giftapedshut.gif
By the way I still can't find "My Forum Posts"

I was trying to think of the down side to this.......I guess if someone hits the "watch this topic" option, then the other posters won't get notification of a new post....

ahhhhhh....I love to understand things icon_smile.gif

Exactly! icon_wink.gif I hate when I'm dying to continue reading and I get another email saying there is another post go to read it and it only says "save"... but if they had just clicked watch this topic no one would be notified lol

Since you're going to be reading this anyway lol... right now when I post it'll be right under my post. It's ALWAYS at the very bottom of each and every thread under the buttons that say "New topic", "post reply", and "print topic" between those buttons and the "Quick Reply" box you'll see it off to the left right under those buttons icon_smile.gif I hope this helps if not I can give you a screen shot icon_smile.gif

It would be nice if the watched topics was bigger. I looked over it so many times. icon_redface.gif I've always wondered what save did too. I'm still trying to get used to everything on here.

Now, I think I'll just start posting a period. Whatdayathink???? icon_rolleyes.gif
