Are those two names the same pan?

Also if a bund pan gives a measurement of 12 cups, how can I figure that in inches... like 8" or 10".

I just bought this pan, on the label they call it a bundform pan and says 12 cups.

I have a recipe that calls for an 8 inch tube pan. Needed to know if the pan I bought is the right one.

Oh yeah, if a recipe calls for white sugar, is that powedered sugar or granulated sugar?

Thanks

Oh! Just in case it is the pan that is scalloped and has the hole in the middle and about 4" deep.

They are not the same pan. The tube pan is for Anglefood cake stlye cakes, and the Bundt is squat and fluted. I suppose they can be used pretty much the same way, except the Angelfood cake pan has a removable bottom and could leak if the batter is not stiff enough. If you have something specific in mind, give it a try. icon_biggrin.gif

A bundt pan is the pan with the rounded bottom. A tube pan is the kind of pan you would use to make an angel food cake with, it is more square along the bottom.

White sugar in a recipe means granulated sugar.

Powdered sugar is usually referred to as powdered or confectioner's sugar.

I don't know the answers to your first inquiries, but for your last one, white sugar is just that- a white sugar.

I would use granulated sugar if you are baking, but if you're doing some sort of other pastry, my presumption would be that the author is talking about confectioner's sugar, otherwise known as "powdered sugar".

Nglez09, white sugar is regular sugar, that is, granulated sugar. I've never seen powdered or confectioners sugar referred to as anything but powdered or confectioners. icon_smile.gif

Thanks ladies!!!

The pan I bought was the rounded fluted one.

The recipe is a pound cake. I hope that this will work.

Thanks
