Hi Everyone!
I am making a thanksgiving cake for a friend. She wants a spice cake with cream cheese filling. It's going to be a simply decorated slab cake.
My question is: What filling should I use? I really really don't want to use just icing spread in the middle. I also want it to be genreally appealing to a large group of people.
Thanks in advance for opinions!!!!!
how about a pumpkin filling? i cant wait till thanksgiving...im going to be SICK of pumpkin! lol ![]()
I agree that pumpkin would go really well with the spice cake. You could make buttercream using the spiced pumpkin liquid coffee creamer. It is sooooo yummy!
I'm doing my own birthday cake this weekend (because I wanted to, not because I have to!), and I'm doing a spice cake with cream cheese icing. I'm using French Apple Filling for my filling, and am hoping that it will taste nummy.
I haven't decided if I'm going to mix the apple mixture in with the icing, or just use it as a filling between layers, but we'll see! ![]()
I've always thought apples go best with spice cake, personally. ![]()
Okay, now I am just hungry. The spice cake with french apple filling sounds the best to me! Yummmmm
Thanks for your suggestions everybody!!!!!!
My first thought had been pumpkin as well, but my friend veto'd that.
I think the rum idea will be a BIG hit - I can't believe I didn't think of that, but I am so glad that you did dinas!!!!
I'm also going to run the apple filling idea by my friend as well...
you guys are excellent!
