I've made chocolate ganache before and I have an upcoming wedding cake that I will be using it for. I'm wondering if I need to whip it. Is one more stable than the other? If I do whip it, will it become a much lighter color or retain it's dark chocolate color? Thanks!

Is the whipped ganasch used for filling, or icing for the entire cake?
