Need Recipe Help

If I were to add canned pumpkin to a spice cake mix would I substitute it for something or just add it like I do instant pudding? I am wanting something fallish since my cake will have pumpkins on it.

I don't think that would work one for one, but you never know.

How about adding some pumpkin pie spice to the cake mix?
