I have a cake to do for the office Christmas party and I don't want to do the basic white or chocolate cake. Any suggestions???

What are the flavors of the season that appeal to you?
There's - chocolate; gingerbread; eggnog; peppermint; cranberry; fruitcake; mincemeat; pumpkin; rum; brandy; most of these flavors can be added successfully to a cake using coffee creamers, etc. (There are several threads on the creamers).

I vote for a chocolate peppermint cake. You can even add bits of candy canes to the icing so it looks nice too.

I second the Red Velvet Cake suggestion...just don't use cream cheese frosting thumbsdown.gif use the traditional frosting instead thumbs_up.gif
