HELP! I have a cake for a 50th anniversary to make on Friday for a Saturday lunch. The lady dropped the topper off today...it is gold...like a bronze gold.....I was planning to use gold...more like a golden yellow for icing roses....that won't work....it will clash with the topper. I don't know what color to use for a more bronze gold.....?

Suggestions please!

you could try Aztec Gold luster dust. its not as yellow as the gold-gold.

Do you know where I can buy this?

Does Michaels, Hobby Lobby or Walmart sell it?

Thanks for your speedy reply!

I recently went through the whole luster dust issue. There are sites that sell it. I found mine @ Chocolate Wonderland in Lexington,SC
I think the address is
182 Ellis St. Lexington,SC

ph.# 803-957-5002
Fax # 803-957-6774
The lady I spoke with suggested Old Gold for my tea pot. She was a sweetheart!!!!! The luster dust was $3.98 Good Luck

Do the roses have to be gold? I'm just completing a 50th anniversary cake and decided to colour the roses the same as was her wedding boquet when they got married. I made little cones to go with the roses and dusted them gold. The roses are deep red so the gold looks great with them.
I made the cones with pale yellow paste then dusted with edible gold luster dust. If you mix a little burnt orange dust with the gold that should make a bronze colour.
cheers Jan
