I was playing about with a little leftover MMF and a frozen choc cake from some left over batter. So, I had a go at making Debbie Browns ballerina. While her pony tail fell off, I forgot to paint in her shoes, meant to give her some flowers to hold over her ugly hands, and my MMF was tearing - I still enjoyed playing about with it. While I was in my kitchen, a friend of my daughter called round to pick up her kids. She saw my cake and bought it! I explained to her that it was just a little leftover practice cake - but she loved it and needed a cake for her teenage daughter today! So I told her I would sell it to her for cost - she wouldn't hear of it and she on paying the price I had marked it up for. I am so thrilled that anyone would do that. She just called to say it was yummy and her daughter loved it! What a change to have such a lovely customer, usually they are so very demanding and it was so out of the blue! Gave me a boost of confidence too as I play with fondant but don't usually sell them. Just goes to show that there are nice customers out there! ![]()
Tubbs, love your alter ego! Yes, this lady is a sweetheart! And I am still warm and fuzzy from it - I just had a rather rude phone call for an order of 2 cakes for Friday! Wonderwomam I am not! When I told her I couldn't do it for her with so little notice, she got really nasty, but my warm fuzzies from my nice lady were still wrapped around me and the rudeness didn't bother me a jot! I am sure you have all had both bad and good customers, as I have, but my nice lady really is my best to date. If she ever comes back for another cake it will get all TLC I can give it. She is a collegue of my daughter but didn't know I did cakes. Anyhoos, if there was an award for the best customer, she would get my vote. I wonder if anyone else has had such a lovely customer?
