I finally gave up on trying to find SPS here locally, or getting something shipped in time for tomorrow.

Explained the whole thing to DH this morning at like 5am, while half asleep and he was running out the door.

On the way home, he picked up some plastic and is going to try to MAKE me an SPS type deal. Well, as far as we can tell, never having seen one in person before.

So... cross your fingers. I have to make the cake tomorrow, stack it Wednesday, and leave it till Friday night. I sure hope he knows what he's doing!!

Oh, sorry... the Single Plate System. Plates with dowels attached, you just push the whole thing down into the tier below it.

icon_lol.gif OK, gottcha! Sorry you were not able to find one or get one ordered in time. I hate that kind of thing when working on a project with a deadline! Best of luck and looking forward to seeing your finished product. icon_smile.gif

Woo! I think it turned out nice! He went a step further and made a base for it, also.

For those who have SPS.. do these look anything like it? All I've seen are sketches.

Does the sps snap each level into each other? Does this? Can you transport this set already stacked? I guess I'm not seeing how these attach together. Also, about how much did it cost you to make it?

Jen it is supposed to apparently have some sort of notch at the base of the cake plate that goes up into your cardboard round (I think) to make it more stable...then the legs fit in the bottom of the cake plate and you just place legs and plate and all down into your cake
I sure do hope I explained that right.

Supposed to be able to transport stacked....but let's wait and see what someone else says

I guess I'm just not seeing how you could transport it wit hthe homemade version already stacked without a central support. I'm sure it's just the pics!
