Cut a slit in the little weiner and stick a tiny slice of Jack or Swiss cheese inside the slit. Brush them with melted butter and sprinkle them with sesame seeds before baking, even better.

The MSG is just a flavor enhancer so leave it out if you like.

boring one here:

cheese cubes/slices/wedges, etc.

(and brie w/ crackers and grapes!)

and of course any of that stuff that comes in a cup and requires someone to be the designated driver!

I have made skewers with Olives both kinds, hard salami or pepperoni, red and green peppers, purple onions, tortillini filled pasta, grape tomatoes and artichoke hearts marinated in an italian dressing. You can vary the ingredients with yellow squash, zuchinni, or other veggies or meat.

My favorite the last couple of years has been a fruit tray. It is something different for the holidays when you are used to seeing a lot of heavier food. I did one for thanksgiving with the following (I need to get a larger platter for christmas so I can get more variety-but it went over well)

Watermellon
Grapes (I only did green this time but purple will be there next time too)
Fresh Pineapple
Fresh Strawberries
Cantalope
Apples (I had a variety of 3-4 different kinds of apples-the Braeburns seemed to go first)
I also had a caramel dip for the apples-you could do a fruit dip but the recipes I have to make these both from scratch have dairy in them so you may want to do a search for a different recipe or buy the ones without.

Other items can see on a fruit spread at my families.....
Bananas
Black Raspberries
Red Raspberries
I know it is dairy but if you have some people that can have yogurt I like Vanilla yogurt by yoplait with my fruit also.

Thanks everyone for sharing recipes-I now have some new ones to test out this year on the family! Can never have too many different foods on the buffet table right?
