I am planning on making IMBC for some upcoming cakes but I have never made it..always the std type BC butter/crisco blend...

So...can you pipe roses and do piping etc with IMBC or would you use it strictly for icing the cake and use the std BC for the roses and decorations?

TIA
Jane

I have done stringwork and borders with it but haven't attempted buttercream roses. It may be too soft, not sure.

Definately you can!!! I have a picture in my favs with roses made out of IMBC! It really makes a difference with the flowers and the colors.

The cake was made by heavenlycakes Check her photos and it's the one with all the colored flowers on it. It's titled 16th Birthday Cake! It is gorgeous!!!
