Dark Purple

Hey all im doing a Red Hat Cake for a friend of mine and was wondering how to get the purple that is on the hats, i also have trouble with the red but read a post here on how to get the fondant to be red, Thanks everone

Try mixing small amounts of pink (I use rose) with blue (I use royal blue). I've found that mixing red with blue gives a gray tone to the purple.

Can't help you much for the red. The cake supply shop near me sells red buttercream. Other than that I haven't had much luck with making it dark enough.

Thanks i will try that, i might just try to buy it from a bakery instead of making a mess
