Ok, so I just realized that I need a professional KitchenAid with a motor strong enough for me to able to make two batches of IMBC at once. Today I was beating my egg whites (once I added the syrup) for like 2 hours until it was sort of cool to the touch and my KitchenAid started crying (that's what it sounded like) and it wouldn't stop even when I reassured him that everything would be OK. icon_lol.gif

So..... KitchenAid... here I come! Early Christmas present for the next 20 years anybody??????

I don't know how big of motor you need but Kohl's is running a sale on the heavier Kitchenaid (5qt) and free shipping.

Black Friday my daughter was there and the heavier mixer (5 qt) was on sale for $199 and then you got an additional 20% off for getting there early and I believe Kitchenaid had a $20 rebate. She heard the woman behind her talking about it she was buying two.

I was sick for the rest of the day. Even tho I have a Kitchenaid mixer I would have loved to had this one. Who couldn't use a second mixer?

I was wondering the same thing. With the second mixer that is. I was hoping one day to open up a cake shop. Not anytime soon but one day. I was on sams club looking at the mixers and came across some great deals. I even saw a 20 quart mixer for 200 so I was going through the local papers and things and saw a 20 quart mixer for 850 what about that. My question is would you buy it??

This site used to be called justdiscounted, now is walletbuddy. I bought my kitchenaid 600 professional series - saved so much on the price - we bought alot of assesories so go with it. Bought it during summer after I burned out my cheapee mixer on my very first batch of wilton buttercream. I forgot to gradually mix the ingredients - and added them all before mixing, and, consequently, broke the beater.

If you have a kohls card and a coupon, I would go for the 600 series. I have 2 now and love them.
The first one died and came back to life, but had to by a new one in the meen time of the fixing. Try the
6 quart, you'll love it.

Thanks, guys! I have also been considering the idea of getting a second mixer. Today I was making both IMBC and FBC so I had to wait for the first one to be done before I started on the second one and remember that my KA started whining after just 2 hours icon_eek.gif of mixing so I had to give it a rest and I have the FBC in the mixer right now. The one I own is the Artisan kind, a 5qt I believe but it's 325 W which I think it's insufficient for big quantities so a 600 W would be great! I will check costco and also Sam's Club.

Happy mixing!
