My cakes come out too dry. I tried making homemade and then I tried box (DH) and they still come out dry. I use Wilton pan strips. Any suggestions?

dry cakes are usually do to overbaking. Try lowering your oven temp, it maybe running too hot. Also, make sure to check the cake earlier then what the box tells you to.

I usually check on the cake WAY before the recipe or box says to. I take it out of the oven the MOMENT that it's just done. It'll bake a little more when it's still in the pan during the 10 minute cooling period, so you don't want to bake it until it's really done or it'll overdry in the pan while cooling.

turn the oven down at least 25 degrees.

DH is usually pretty moist......plus start checking on the cake way before the box says to....if you touch it and it barely springs back its done.

have you checked your ovens temp?...it could be off as well.
