Today at WalMart's I saw some square silicone potholder's that had raised leaf designs on it, they were in fall color's of burnt orange, golden yellow, green's etc...priced at 4.99 Has anyone seen these yet? They were in Kitchen Good's Dept; hanging on the side of an endcap. Do you think they would be good for using as an impression mat? I have never used an impression mat before so I have no idea, but I thought they were cool.

I saw those and thought the same thing!! I thought they'd be excellent to use as an impression mat. I was with the family and in a hurry so I didn't buy one but I may have to go back and get one!

Yea, sometimes its quite scary the way some people go to walmart dressed. I know that I always feel better about the way I'm dressed - it never fails, there is always someone in there worse than me.

Now, you got me up looking in my kitchen drawer. I have two sets of silicone oven mitts. Both have raised dots in two different sizes. I'll have to give them a try!!

Thanks for the creative thinking.

I found some last time I was at Christmas Tree Shops (I think it's just a New England store...and contrary to it's name, doesn't sell Christmass stuff except at Christmas) and haven't used them yet!

This is so funny that you should mention this...I've been looking at discount stores for anything I can use for impressions - placemats, whatever. Thanks for mentioning wal-mart. I'm going to head over tomorrow!

I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw them, but I didn't get them because there was also a raised edge all the way around and I could just see me getting a straight line right down the middle of the cake where I didn't want it--DUH! I could just cut that off!

GenGen, Thank's for more great ideas. The Dollar store can be a great place for find's like that. I do know a couple weeks ago our local store got in some silicone baking pans in the shape of teddy bears , hearts, stars, moon etc.. they are are about 4 inches in length by about 3 inches wide. Cute. Havent used them yet.

chell, My sisiter lives in NY and also has the Christmas Tree Shops in her area. She' gets some great stuff their. Maybe some day they will open up shops in the Midwest! . LOL
