It's kind of like food safe shrink wrap. I have seen it for sale on-line-maybe at papermart.com

I did see that the house had been purchased, and turned into a museum. I also just noticed that Hallmark has a series of ornaments from the movie out this year -- they have little Ralphie in the bunny suit!

Now back to Wrapping Cookies...sorry to get this so off track!

Michael's has the shrink wrap sheets that work with a hair dryer.

But it's a 2 part system, I don't know what they use to seal the bag before you hit it with the heat gun, but I have the system

I have the shrink wrap plastic in a great big roll...I pull out what I need to cover the item all around. I crimp seal it around the item, giving myself a generous border and hit it with heat gun to shrink wrap.

You have to be careful not to melt a hole in the shrink wrap with the heat gun! keep your arm moving.

HTH.

I guess you can do the same with the shrink wrap sheets from Michaels.

Small high-jack-the guy bought Ralphie's house and the house across the street. He also makes the leg lamps and an ornament leg lamp too. His website is so funny-you can even buy lifebouy soap! There is an article on CNN.com right now.
