Well, I've used a small drop of icing to do them.... I use tip 1 or 2 and squeeze a small amount and put them on, however I've also just pressed them into the frosting a little and it worked great too.... I hope you get other answers....... good luck!

Agree with the above. It depends on where you're placing them. If I place them in as part of the border, they are easily placed in the soft icing of the border, like this one .... http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=303533 . If I am putting them on the side of the cake, like this one .... http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=808643 , I use a tiny drop of BC to act as the glue to hold them in place.

If they are the smaller ones, tweezers are a great tool for placement.

When I place them on the sides of a cake, I use tweezers to hold them, and then to get them to stick, i wiggle them a bit on the crusted icing to get them to stick.

Ditto. I use piping gel to adhere dragees to fondant. Its clear and you only need a tiny dot. I normally just snip a tiny tip off of a parchment cone, make all the dots I need around the cake then attach the dragees.
