I'm not sure if anyone has done this/mentioned it before...but I was just thinking about the bake even cake strips. I really hated messing around w/ the little pin to adjust it, b/c half the time it wouldn't stay and would just slip off, for a while I was using a safety pin...well that also wasn't the best.
I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner, as I also sew for another hobby. thumbs_up.gif

I took some velcro strips, and sewed it to the bake even strips, voila...now I can get a perfect adjustment! Yeah...so happy!

For those of you who are not the sewing type they also have velcro that comes w/ a sticky back, and it should serve the purpose, but for the best results, I recommend sewing it down using a straight (or zig-zag) stitch. If you think this will work for you, just make sure that you give enough length on your velcro to adjust for the smaller size cakes. icon_biggrin.gif

Hello...I had thought about adding the velcro. However I thought the plastic part would melt. So the heat doesn't bother the plastic piece at all....thanks Kim

ive got mine sewn to fit my standard pans, and then have a few that i pin on. also when they start to get thin and ratty on the outside, you can sew an old ironing board cover over it, the silver or metally type covering, as that is suitable to high temps.
