I found a Wilton 13 inch gingerbread boy pan. It looks like about 1/2 inch deep. (# 2105-6209) Can I use it to make a stand up gingerbread cookie, or is it really a cake pan?
Can anyone shed some light? Thank you.

I used to have that pan! I can't even imagine what happened to it. I remember I used it for cake the first time ( oh, about 18 years ago) and it was a burned pancake. Then I only used it a couple more times for cookies, and remembered they were ok, but on the thick and soft side.
In retrospect, I probably didn't bake long enough, but that sure is a cute pan!

I have that pan and I have used gingerbread cookie dough. If you don't overbake, it comes out great. I have made the dough from scratch, but last year I found that one roll of pre-made gingerbread cookie dough fits it well. I make this one and put it on a cake board cut to shape and then decorate with buttercream. The kids at school love it! I've never tried to stand it up, though.
