I've had a request from my sister to do a "princess hat" and scepter for the top of her daughters bithday cake. Not a tiara, but on of those pointed hats with draping coming rom the top (did that make sense icon_confused.gif ).

Now I know I can use an ice cream cone, the problem is I can't find large pointed cones ANYWHERE and the cake is a 10" round. My little cone will be dwarfed! Does anyone know another way to do this or someplace I can get larger cones at? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Did I ask an impossible question? Or is everyone as stumped as I am about this? icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Here are a few suggestions:

1) EDIBLE: Rice krispy treats shaped into the shape you need and covered in fondant or cake carved into the shape that you need.

2) NON-EDIBLE: carboard cut and shaped into a cone and covered in fondant or a cone foam that you can get from the floral section at AC Moore or Michaels.

You could also probably go to an ice cream shop like Cold Stone Creamery or Baskin Robbins and get them to sell you and empt waffle cones. They bake them themselves and you could probably trim it to do your job just fine (and it is a lot larger than a regular sugar cone).
