OK, just got an enquiry for a Charlie and the Chocolate themed birthday cake. Needs to serve 25 kids. Birthday girl does't like chocolate cake ( icon_confused.gif ), so so far I'm thinking of a 2 tier stacked cake (maybe a 1-layer (split & filled), 8 & 10in using the 3in deep pans), decorated with the grass tip in buttercream with a chocolate 'river' flowing from one tier to the next (maybe pooling at the bottom on the board), with lots of lollipops and candies stuck around it, maybe a few candy canes (gumpaste, or real if I can find them small enough).

Any other ideas? I looked in the galleries but didn't find much.

Thanks thumbs_up.gif

i might make a whimsical cake.... maybe tilted.... with different shapes/colors of lollies and other candies.... and get a WOnka Bar for the top..... they sell them around here at the specialty candy shops.... or maybe add a Golden Ticket somehwere? It sounds like a fun cake to do!!!

I really like the tilted cake idea with grass and "chocolate river" Lots of lollies and candycanes, fondant or otherwise. The golden ticket is awesome to add to the whole theme. The ticket could be white /chocolate plaque with gold luster dusts and maybe personalized for birthady girl.
