I am making some mickey, goofy and donald duck figures to go on my niece's b-day cake and I don't know if I should use fondant or gumpaste? I 've never used gumpaste before, I've heard of 50/50 fondant and gumpaste? I am only making the heads but I would like to be able to put enough detail on them that she can tell who they are? Which one should I use?

Taking fondant and adding 1 tsp per pound of a gum (trag, tylose, etc) is really a great modeling medium. Smooth and pliable. Strong.
