I would like to know what to use on the back of the ribbons that are put around a cake and how to do it. Fast reply is greatly appreciated, Peggy icon_surprised.gif

I don't do anything to mine. I apply the ribbon after I assemble the cake at the site. The BC has crusted so there is no "wet" icing to soak thru the ribbon.....I have no "bleed thru". Polyeurothene works better than polyester ribbon. I use a dot of BC to glue the two ends together in the back.

Thank you for the info. What width ribbon would you suggest I use on a cake 8"x3" ?

Hi Peeg
When I put ribbon around my cakes I cut it just a little longer and fold one end under and I secure with pearl topped straight pins, I use the size pin according to the width of ribbon and size of the cake. Like indydebi I wait until the buttercream has crusted so there is no grease bleed through.
