When using a cake mix and wanting to use buttermilk rather than the water is it sitll the same measurements?? So if the box calls for a cup and a 1/4 of water is it still a cup and a 1/4 of buttermilk???

I would substitute cup for cup. I usually use whole milk in place of water for mixes and it comes out great. I'm sure buttermilk would also come out great, especially in chocolate. Good luck!

Hi KellJ,
I only use 1 cup of liquid for each box mix even if it calls for more, I think the batter is too thin with more.
