How much would you charge for a puppy cake like the one I did for practice.

I have an order for one on the second of December. Was thinking at lest 25.00 . Cake is made out of one cake mix.

It's not just the cake but your labor as well that you must take into consideration when pricing a cake. I would say $35.00-45.00.

You should be able to get $50 for it in my opinion. That's not something you can just get anywhere!!

My 2 cents says 30 servings 3.00 bucks a piece $90 bucks. Can your neighborhood handle that price? What amount of time do you have in it????? I'd say at least one hour to bake and four hours to create right? Without supplies that is $18 bucks an hour.

Subtract 15.00 bucks for supplies and you get $15.00 bucks an hour. Ya see where I am going with this.

Now not everyone can create this piece so it is one of a kind and worth every penny!

Depending on prices in your area, I think a minimum of $40 and more reasonably $50.

OK I like tiptop's price! icon_razz.gif I try to charge higher than I think I should but I know how hard it can be. I am a wimp at collecting money, but as my husband says "You're worth it!!" so make sure to do better than I do and ask for what you deserve!

Yeppers after they ask me for a cake. The first words out of my mouth........"I'm expensive."

We should not give away our talent for free or down play our creations by under charging!

"Unless of course we are doing Pro Bono work then that is another story."

I like that price tiptop gave, too, but I think the servings are off maybe. One cake mix has "12 servings" according to the box. For my area, it would be $2 per serving plus decorating time. So, $24 (basic cake) plus 4 x hourly rate. At $10 per hour, I would charge $64. Minimum wage is still $5.15 here, so it would be $45.

$45-65 or higher, depending on the area.
