I have a batch of royal icing (wilton's recipe) and it seems a bit stiff. May sound like a crazy question, but can I just add tiny bits of water at a time, or will that compromise the strength of the icing once it dries? I want to try some stringwork with it. Thanks in advance!

As a matter of fact, that is exactly how you thin it out. You are right on target. Add a little bit at a time because it is possible to thin it out too much and then it just runs all over the place.

Hope I could help! icon_biggrin.gif

Ditto. Just wet your hand and sprinkle the water in, bits at a time like you said. Good luck.
