I am wanting to recreate this cake for my twins 1st birthday anyone have any suggestions on how to?
I do not know if the characters are made of fondant or just plastic.
I also do not want it to be so big because a cake like this serves alot and i just need it to serve about 25 people but i like the 3 tier look.....PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
It looks plastic to me, too. The fish on the second tier look like they're piped in buttercream. I agree with leana that you could just do two tiers, or if you want a smash cake, do the three tiers and let the top tier be a smash cake for the kids. Overall, it seems like it would be fairly easy to do. I think you can definitely do it! Good luck! ![]()
They sell those same plastic figurines at the Dollar Tree in our town.
For my DD's 1st b-day I wanted a 3 tiered cake also, because of the design, but we didn't have that many people coming to the party, so I did 8 and 6 inch cakes, then made another 6 inch cake which I trimmed down to 3 or 4 inches, for the top tier, and that was her smash cake. Maybe you could just cut it in half, since you have twins, and give them each half of it
. Good luck!
